The perfect librarian

Yesterday I was in the library when I noticed a sign that struck me as
interesting.

The first thought I had was, "that sounds rather sad to be considered
as unwanted."

Then I noticed that the shelves were empty.

My next thought was wow these are some awesome books!!! There are none that public doesn't want to read.

I then continued about my business.

A little later as we stood up to leave I noticed all the shelves and
rows full of books.

The books were all different colors, shapes sizes and
had different stories. However though they had differences they were
completely in place and organized and easy to find.

I again looked at the empty selves with the unwanted sign.

Then a new thought accrued to me.

Maybe it wasn't that the books were all awesome and perfect, but
instead to the librarian ALL THE BOOKS were wanted. All the
books were and are important and have a proper place.

This made me immediately think of the Heavenly Father!

He loves each of us. He has a place for each of us and cares so much!

He is the perfect librarian!

He knows us so well. He knows when we feel unwanted and need our
designated place to go. He cares for and treasures us.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not
fall on the ground without your Father.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

(Matthew 10:29-31)

If He is aware of a sparrow falling, He is most definitely aware of
each of us.

So much so that the savior said the very hairs of our head
are numbered.

I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. I have felt it before and I
know it to be true.

With love,
Sister Schramm

Happiness of the Moment

Imagine sitting in a boat on a beautiful Alaskan river. A cool breeze bowing through your hair. Four fishing poles in the water waiting for a bite. Evergreen trees and wildlife existing on the beach. Spending time with an important person in your life (aka my Dad) and soaking in the rays of the sun.
Suddenly a fish the size of an eight year old child bites one of the fishing lines and you start reeling it in.
Once the fish is landed (in the boat) you can't help but smile and laugh!
This moment sounds amazing to me and it was amazing to me!

I share about this experience of mine because I think my smile in this picture says it all.
I was so truly happy.
There are moments around us everyday each day where we are truly happy. The question is do we recognize them?
Heavenly Father gives us moments each and everyday! We have the choice to make them the best of any situation.
He blesses us to have these moments. He asks us to serve Him and choose to follow Him, yet His love is so strong and kind that when we don't choose to enjoy these moments or choose to follow Him, He forgives and continually gives more opportunities.
Mosiah 2:21 I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another--I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.
I hope that in any situation we recognize His love for us in each moment!
Everything may be falling apart in one moment but the next they are falling into place. The rain may be pouring down for a time, but God always blesses us with something beautiful like a rainbow when it is over.
Live each moment!

quick to observe

My dad isn't a Scientist or a Doctor or a Lawyer.

However my Dad is so intelligent.

I have asked him before how he knows so much and is so smart and his answer simply is, "I pay attention to the things around me."

(Note binoculars in picture) :)

From my experience as a missionary I would replace my dads answer 'paying attention' to the phrase

QUICK TO OBSERVE

'quick to observe' is from The Book of Mormon found in Mormon 1:2

The background behind this phrase is the young prophet historian Mormon was told by Ammaron, a man of God who hide the record to protect it, to retrieve the plates of Nephi and to record also the dealings of the people during his life.

Ammaron also explained Mormon was chosen because he was [trustworthy] and quick to observe.

I love this phrase and support it completely! I know that we are given blessings, responsibilities, knowledge, insight, strength, comfort or any other thing by being quick to observe.

The Lord leads us through and by our senses. When we use those senses to follow Him and gain knowledge through Him we are blessed!

Learn from the things around you! Everything testifies and witnesses to Christ! When we are quick to observe we gain so much!

I am so grateful for The Book of Mormon. It has blessed my life so much and I love learning from it. It is the way God speaks to me.

Be not only quick to observe the things around you, but also be quick to observe the Saviors teachings and commandments.

Here is your invitation! Be quick to observe today of something and take note of it!

be sound and whole

I cannot count how many invitations I have been given or given to others myself. So so soooooo many! (especially as a missionary!)

One thing I've learned when it comes to these invitations is, there are two results:

1- accepted and attend or receive.
or
2- denied and does not benefit/ nothing changes.

Super simple, right?

Well whatever the circumstance there is almost always someone standing in either category/ outcome.

In the Book of Mormon there is an invitation that really struck me. It is given by Christ, Himself, before He comes and visits the people in the Americas. This is His invitations.....

3 NEPHI 9:13 will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may cheal you?

Heal means to be sound or whole.

sound and whole summed up mean to be complete.

CHRIST IS INVITING EACH OF US TO COME UNTO HIM AND BE COMPLETE.

After He extends His invitation this is what we will be blessed with.

9:14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will acome unto me ye shall have beternal life. Behold, mine carm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.

I know that we can be sound and whole. I know that Christ loves us and desires for us to come unto Him. He has extended the invitation and it is up to us to decided what to do with it. You can either be on result side 1 or 2. You choose.
